Human Right and Foreign Relations Committee conducts consultative meeting

The Human Rights and Foreign Relations Committee of the National Assembly organized a consultative meeting on the Civil Society Organizations (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2021 with the Legislative Committee of the National Council today.
Presenting on the main four Principles for the Amendments, the Legislative Committee highlighted briefly on the importance of safeguarding the National Security and Wellbeing, Promoting balanced and coordinated Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of Civil Society Organization Authority (CSOA) and its Secretariat Office and Harmonizing the existing provisions.
The Chairperson of the Legislative Committee also presented on the overall amended provisions of the Bill as passed in 27th Session of National Council.
The Civil Society Organizations (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2021 will be introduced in the National Assembly in the 6th Session.
