Bhutanese Parliamentary Delegation in India

A Parliamentary Delegation led by the Hon’ble Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan is currently on a five-day visit to India upon the invitation extended by the Lok Sabha, India.
The delegation led by the Hon’ble Speaker Wangchuk Namgyel includes;

- Hon’ble Lhaki Dolma, National Council of Bhutan

- Hon’ble Tshewang Lhamo, National Assembly of Bhutan
- Hon’ble Karma Gyeltshen, National Assembly of Bhutan
- Hon’ble Gyem Dorji, National Assembly of Bhutan
- Hon’ble Karma Wangchuk, National Assembly of Bhutan
- Hon’ble Ugyen Wangdi, National Assembly of Bhutan
- Hon’ble Karma Lhamo, National Assembly of Bhutan
During the visit, the delegation will be meeting with the Speaker of Lok Sabha and the key Government of India functionaries. They will also be witnessing the proceedings of the Budget sessions.
The delegation signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Assembly of Bhutan and the Lok Sabha of India on strengthening parliamentary relations. The MoU is aimed to provide a framework for enhanced partnership, cooperation, and continuous interaction between the National Assembly of Bhutan and the Lok Sabha of India. The visit will further deepen and broaden the close ties of mutual friendship, trust and understanding between the two countries.
The delegation will also be visiting cultural heritage sites and business infrastructures such as startup centers and sea ports. The delegation will return on 11th February 2022.
