The virtual meeting of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) Standing Committee on Social and Cultural Affairs

The Members of the Social and Cultural Committees along with the Members of the Social and Cultural Affairs Committee of National Council led by the Chairpersons of Committees attended the virtual meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) Standing Committee on Social and Cultural Affairs today.

The Meeting discussed in detail the report of APA, consideration of the Situation of Women Parliamentarians in Asia, and consideration and recommendations on Draft Resolutions on Measures to Promote Cultural Diversity and Protect Cultural Heritage in Asia, Asian Integration through Information and Communication Technology, Collaboration on Health Equity in Asia, Asian Parliamentarians against Corruption, APA Women Parliamentarians, Promoting Inter-Faith Dialogue and Harmony among World Religions, Legal and Legislative Cooperation in Combating the Smuggling of Cultural Items in Asia, Effective Cooperation in Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking in Asia, Humanitarian Aid to Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Gaza, and Myanmar on the Verge of the Humanitarian Catastrophe, Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers in Asia, the Promotion of Quality Child and Youth Development for Sustainable Society in Asia, Ageing Society in Asia, and on Human Development in Asia. 

Bhutan has been participating in the meeting since 2013 as one of the member parliaments of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.
