National Assembly passes the Annual Budget for the FY 2021-22

The House today concluded the deliberation on the Economic and Finance Committee’s Review Report on the National Budget for Financial Year 2021-22. The deliberation predominantly focused on the Committee’s recommendation for the requirement of a strictly regulated and dedicated budget under a capital head for school stationeries. The House also looked into the inclusion of other necessities in the list of school stationeries before endorsing it through a majority show of hands.

The House also unanimously endorsed the Supplementary Budget Appropriation Bill for the Financial Year 2020-21 for a sum not exceeding Nu.2,783.703 million.

The House also endorsed the Budget Appropriation Bill for the Financial Year 2021-22 for a sum not exceeding Nu. 80,483.150 million with the current expenditure of Nu. 35,598.664 million, Nu. 44,884.486 million capital expenditure including Nu. 5,654.415 million for repayment, and Nu. 909.400 million for on-lending.

The two Money Bills will be put to vote tomorrow and forwarded to the National Council.
