Disputed Clauses of the Civil & Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill 2019 comes to consensus of the Joint Committee

The Joint Committee on Civil & Criminal Procedure Code (CCPC) met to discuss the Disputed Clauses in the Civil & Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill 2019 today at the Lhen-zom Khangzang. The meeting was presided over by Hon’ble Tshewang Lhamo, the Chairperson of the Joint Committee.

The disputed clauses were referred to the Joint Committee on Civil & Criminal Procedure Code (CCPC) for further discussion after the two Houses couldn’t come to consensus on them. In the process of the deliberation, Hon'ble Committee Members from both the Houses provided detailed justifications on each of the recommendations provided by their respected Houses .

The Committee after a detailed deliberation, came to consensus on all the seven disputed clauses after several minor changes on the clauses. The Committee’s decision will be put up to the plenary in both the Houses.
