National Assembly sets agenda for the Fourth Session of the Third Parliament

The National Assembly of Bhutan today conducted the Preliminary Meeting at Lhen-zom Khangzang to finalize the agenda for the upcoming Fourth Session of the Third Parliament. The session was presided by the Hon'ble Speaker and was also attended by Cabinet Ministers. 

Taking into consideration the current situation of the Country due to COVID-19, the meeting after an intense deliberation came to a consensus to reduce the agenda and only include the important ones in this Session. The upcoming Session will see deliberations on Fiscal Incentives Bill of Bhutan 2020, Ratification of Framework Agreement between the RGoB and the European Investment Bank (EIB) governing EIB activities in Bhutan, Ratification of Agreement between the RGoB and the Green Climate Fund (GCF) On the Privileges and Immunities of the GCF, Entitlement and Service Condition (Amendment) Bill for the Holders, Members and Commissioners of Constitutional Offices of Bhutan 2020, Lhengye Zhungtshog Bill of the Kingdom of Bhutan 2020, Joint Sitting on the disputed clauses of Penal Code (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2019 and Civil and Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2019, Annual Audit Report 2019 and Review Report of Annual Audit Reports 2010- 2018, and Prime Minister’s Annual Report on the state of the nation including legislative plans and the annual plans and priorities of the Government.

The preliminary meeting also discussed two petitions received from the Local Governments and referred it to the relevant Ministries for further action. The Fourth Session of the Third Parliament will commence from 26th November, 2020.
