Auditor General makes a farewell call to the Hon’ble Speaker

The Auditor General of the Royal Audit Authority (RAA), Dasho Tshering Kelzang made a farewell call to the Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan on 28th July 2020. He was accompanied by Mr. Ugyen Dorji, Deputy Auditor General of the Directorate of Services. 


The Speaker congratulated the Auditor General for the successful completion of his term and applauded the achievements made by the Royal Audit Authority under his leadership. Among others, the Speaker expressed his concern about the unresolved budget irregularities as mentioned in the RAA Report 2019 and discussed the way forward. The RAA is mandated to submit an Annual Audit Report and Performance Report to the Parliament. 


The Auditor General expressed his gratitude to the Speaker and the  National Assembly for always supporting the RAA and submitted a term-end report to the Speaker. He mentioned that his tenure was very smooth and attributed it to the support and the guidance received from the Parliament of Bhutan. 


Dasho Tshering Kelzang was appointed as the Auditor General on 31st June, 2015. 


Hon’ble Choida Jamtsho, Chairperson of Public Account Committee and Secretary General of the Secretariat attended the courtesy call-on.
