National Assembly Passes the Annual Budget For the FY 2020-21

After a thorough deliberation on the Budget for the FY 2020-21 concerning allocation of budget for farm road, flagship programs, common minimum infrastructure, and cold storage constructions, the Finance Minister presented the two Budget Bills for adoption to the House. The Economics and Finance Committee resubmitted the clarification that  the CMI budget of Nu. 42.597 million  was for Phankhar Gewog and not Ngangla Gewog as reflected in the report. 

The National Assembly passed the Supplementary Budget Appropriation BIll for the FY 2019-20 for a sum not exceeding Nu.1,031.062 million with 45 Members present, voting in favour of the Bill. 

The House also passed  the Budget Appropriation BIll for the Financial Year 2020-21 for a sum not exceeding Nu.73,989.882 million with the current budget of Nu. 32,900.000 million and capital budget of  Nu. 41,089.881 million, with all 44 Members present, voting in favour of the Bill. 

The two Bill will be forwarded to the National Council and the House will re-deliberate on the  Budget Bill received from the National Council on 16 June 2020.
