A total of eight questions were asked to the Ministers in Group B today.

Five questions to the Minister for Work and Human Settlement were all on status, improvement and plans of roads and highway constructions, blacktopping of Gewog Centre roads and plans for Maukhola Bridge construction.

Minister for Agriculture and Forests was questioned on the continuity of the Mobile Sawmill Services in the rural areas and the rationale behind moving both drinking and irrigation water under the Water Flagship Programme and its benefit and results till now. There was also a question on the status of the Government’s plan to establish Mission or Consulate Office in Australia asked to the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Responding to the establishment of the Mission or Consulate Office in Australia, the Foreign Minister said that the Foreign Ministry is working towards the establishment of consulates by the end of July this year. The establishment of the  consulate is estimated to  cost  Nu. 300 million and will benefit the Bhutannese living and studying in Australia  and strengthen the goodwill and cooperation between the two countries.
