A Report on moving motions in the National Assembly of Bhutan, presented to the Hon’ble Members

The Members of the National Assembly were presented a report on moving motions in the National Assembly of Bhutan by consultant Mr. Sangay Khandu today at the National Assembly Hall. The presentation was Chaired by Hon’ble Speaker. 


The report  is aimed to streamline the process of moving of motions in the National Assembly of Bhutan and enable the members to better exercise their core parliamentary mandate in holding the government to account. The report covered the issues  and difficulties with the current procedure along with some recommendations During the discussion, that there was a general consensus on the need to further discuss on  the criteria for submission of motions. 


The exercise is carried out by the National Assembly with support from  support from the UNDP.
