Posted on :02 July 2019

The Staff of the National Assembly Secretariat observed the "Zero Waste Hour" by cleaning the area around the Gyelyong Tshogkhang premises and the Members of Parliament office from 4-5 pm today. During the one-hour cleaning round, the staff collected some 20 bags of waste.

The "Zero Waste Hour" was launched by Her Majesty, the Gyaltsuen, on 2 June as an initiative  of the National Environment Commission towards achievement of “ Zero Waste Society 2030”. The program is aimed at achieving a zero waste society through involvement of all offices, institutions, and every Bhutanese citizen to build socially and environmentally responsible citizens.

The day will be observed for one hour every 2nd day of the month.
