His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo Graces the Closing Ceremony of 2nd Session of the Third Parliament.

His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo graced the Closing Ceremony of the Second Session of the Third Parliament today. The ceremony was also attended by the senior government officials.  


In the motion of thanks,  the Minister of Home and Cultural Affairs, Chairperson of the National Council and the Opposition Leader expressed their deep appreciation to His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo for gracing the Concluding Ceremony. They expressed their gratitude to His Majesty for strengthening peace, security and sovereignty of the country, for further strengthening foreign relations and ties with other countries.   Gratitude was also expressed to His Majesty for flourishing Buddhist Dharma under His Majesty’s patronage and reign. They also offered wishes for the long life of His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo, Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen, the Gyalsey, His Majesty the 4th King and the Royal Family of Bhutan.


The Speaker in his concluding address expressed gratitude  to His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo for gracing the Concluding Ceremony and for the continued support and wise guidance to the Parliament.  The Speaker reported on the achievements of the Second Session and on the recent  oversight visit to the Wangdiphodrang Dzong reconstruction and Punatsangchu Projects. The Speaker concluded the address by offering prayers for the good health and long life of His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo, the Members of the Royal Family, His Holiness the Je Khenpo and for the continued peace and happiness of the people of Bhutan.


The Ceremony concluded with offering of Zhabten to His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo by the Members of Parliament led by Zhung Dratshang.
