National Assembly holds Plenary Meeting

The Members of the National Assembly met for the plenary meeting today in the National Assembly Conference Hall Chaired by  the Hon’ble Speaker.


Before the discussion on the Agenda tabled for the Plenary, Hon’ble Speaker along with representatives of the Opposition Leader, Hon’ble Dorji Wangdi  launched the National Assembly Strategic Development Plan 2019-2023.


During the plenary, Members shared their experiences and feedback from their first constituency visits. The Plenary discussed and deliberated on the common issues from the first constituency visits presented by Chairperson and Dy. Chairperson of the House Committee. The meeting also discussed the Report on Harmonization of Laws recommended by the National Law Review Taskforce and Adopted the distribution of SDGs/NKRAs among National Assembly Committees. In addition, the report on the 140th IPU  Assembly and the way forward for the IPU resolutions was presented.


The Secretary General, shared information of upcoming events leading up to Preliminary meeting for Agenda setting for summer session of Parliament to be held in 9 May 2019.


The Members will be attending a Workshop on Monitoring SDGs and 12th  FYP and a Presentation on the Bhutan Standards, Metrology and Certification  tomorrow.
