National Assembly holds the Preliminary Meeting for the First Session of the Third Parliament

The National Assembly held the Preliminary Meeting to discuss, finalize and endorse the draft agenda for the First Session of the Third Parliament today at the Grand National Assembly Conference Hall.


The meeting Chaired by the Hon’ble Speaker discussed the 16 petitions received from the Local Governments and out of which 14 were referred to various Ministries for their action and 2 were decided to be included in the Assembly agenda.


The Agenda for the First Sitting of the Third Parliament in addition to agenda received from the Local Government includes the Budget Appropriation Bill and Presentation of the Annual Budget Report 2018-2019, the Twelfth Five Year Plan, Annual Audit Report, 2017 and Review of the Annual Audit Report 2010-2016 by the Public accounts Committee.


The House will also deliberate on the Air Service Agreement between the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates and Amendment of Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.


The meeting was attended by 39 Members including the Ministers and the First Session of the Third Parliament is scheduled to be held from 2nd January, 2019.
