The Royal Audit Authority presents the Annual Audit Report 2017 to the Members of the Parliament

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) organized a presentation from the Royal Audit Authority (RAA) on the Annual Audit Report (RAA) 2017 on 7th December, 2018 in the National Assembly Conference Hall. The presentation was presided over by Hon’ble Phuntsho Rapten, the Chairperson of PAC.


The presentation on the AAR 2017, primarily highlighted on the irregularities related to the Ministries, Dzongkhags, Gewogs, Autonomous Agencies, Corporations, NGOs and the hydropower projects. RAA reported significant unresolved irregularities amounting to Nu.407.112 million as on 31st March 2018 and audit recoveries amounting to Nu. 94.47million. It was submitted that, as compared to the irregularities of Nu. 588.784 million reported in AAR 2016, the irregularities have decreased by 30.86%.


The presentation was followed by discussion on the findings and other issues related to audit report such as efficient & effectiveness utilization of public resources and clarifications by the RAA. The report will be reviewed by the PAC for onward presentation to the forthcoming Joint Sitting of Parliament.


Hon’ble Speaker Wangchuk Namgyel, Hon’ble Chairperson Tashi Dorji from the National Council and Members from both the Houses attended the presentation.
