The National Assembly website won the second prize in the national website competition for the year 2016-17 which was organized by the Ministry of Information & Communications. The award ceremony was graced today by the Hon’ble Minister for Information & Communications and was held at the conference hall of the Ministry of Information & Communications coinciding with the World Telecommunication & Information Society Day.

The staffs working in the Information & Communications Division of the National Assembly Secretariat were congratulated by the Hon’ble Speaker, Secretary General and the Director of the National Assembly. Sharing the joyous moment, the Hon’ble Speaker commended the hard work put in by the officials in advancing the National Assembly website as a tool of communication.

The recognition has come at a time when the National Assembly of Bhutan is gradually moving towards introducing e-parliament tools such as digital citizen engagement and paper less initiative in line with the policy of the Royal Government.

The National Assembly was ranked fourth in the last website competition and has always ensured to mark its position in the past among the top ten websites in the country.
