Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Bouddha Kristi Prachar Sangha calls on the Hon’ble Speaker

Senior Vice President Mr. P.R Barua of Bangladesh Bouddha Kristi Prachar Sangha, Dharmarajika Buddhist Monastery called on the Hon’ble Speaker Jigme Zangpo earlier this morning. The visiting guest was briefed on the parliamentary system of the country and he also witnessed today’s sitting inside the Gyalyong Tshokhang.

 

Sharing information on the Buddhist monasticism and scholasticism in Bhutan, the Hon’ble Speaker highlighted the close cooperation and friendship enjoyed by Bhutan and Bangladesh.  Mr. P.R Barua expressed his appreciation on the strong presence of Buddhist values and tradition in Bhutan and set forth for possible exchange programs between the sanghas of the two countries in the near future.

 

Mr. P.R Barua had first visited Bhutan in 2009 as part of the Bangladeshi delegation during Her Excellency Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s state visit.
