Revised Taxes and Levies Bill of Bhutan, 2016 passes as the Money bill

The Minister of Finance moved the motion in the National Assembly today for adoption of the Revised Taxes and Levies Bill of Bhutan 2016. The Minister said that it will immensely benefit the low income group of people, children and the private sector and asked for the endorsement of the bill by the house.


The house passed the bill with 38 members voting in favour of the Bill, while 2 members voted against and 3 members abstained from voting. There were total of 43 Members present.

The bill will be sent to the National Council under the label of a Money Bill for deliberation.
