Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bhutan calls on the Hon’ble Speaker

Ambassador Sudhakar Dalela of India called on the Hon’ble Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan today following the successful Bhutanese Parliamentary Delegation to India.
The Ambassador apprised the Hon’ble Speaker on the appreciation from Government of India for the successful visit and the Memorandum of Understanding between the two Parliaments. The call on was also meant to discuss the post-visit activities.
The Hon'ble Speaker expressed that the first and foremost achievement of the visit has been in further strengthening the close ties between the two countries. Furthermore, the two Parliaments are able to strengthen partnership by renewing the Memorandum of Understanding. The Speaker apprised the Ambassador that he had extended an invitation to the Speaker of Lok Sabha to visit Bhutan.
The meeting had noted the following possible areas for collaborations:
- Capacity building of the Members and the Secretariat staff; and
- Explore possibilities to establish a Resource Center for Parliament of Bhutan.
The Ambassador expressed his satisfaction on the past collaboration between the two parliaments and committed to work together in strengthening the relations of the Parliament of the two countries.
The Bhutanese Parliamentary Delegation to India was for a week-long visit to India upon the invitation by the Lok Sabha from 5th -11th February 2023.
