Third Reading of the Pay Structure Reform Bill goes into the third day

As per the directive of the House, the Chairperson of the Economic and Finance Committee reported back with the Committee’s review on sections 54 and 63. The Committee recommended a total of Nu.40,000 carriage charges for personal effects during transfer and retirement to all public servants irrelevant of their post. The committee also submitted the re-worded recommendation on section 63 pertaining to the designated duty vehicle. The House, after deliberation, endorsed both recommendations.  

However, the recommendation to insert a new section after section 85 on the baggage allowance of 250kgs as applicable on transfer from Headquarters to Mission or Mission to Headquarters or Mission was not supported by the House. 

<span arial="" ,"sans-serif";color:black"="">The House also endorsed the committee’s recommendation in section 99 which entitles the public servants with 20% DA for in-country travel for public servants accompanying the Prime Minister, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairperson of National Council, Leader of Opposition, Cabinet Ministers and Equivalent Positions through the majority show of hands. The House also endorsed Sections 101 (1) to 113 without any amendments and the Bill will be officially adopted tomorrow through the votes.
