The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan, Hon’ble Tshencho Wangdi met with Dasho Dzongda, Dasho Dzongrab, and sector heads of Punakha Dzongkhag on 25th April. The meeting discussed the current developmental activities in the Dzongkhag.
During the meeting, the Hon’ble Member thanked them for their continued support and dedicated services during the pandemic in addressing the necessary grievances of the public. In the afternoon, Dasho visited the Gamaluma farm road in Barp Gewog. The Farm road is due to be completed in the first week of May. Hon’ble Dasho also met with the public of Talo Gewog. He congratulated and offered Tashi Khadar to the newly elected LG leaders. He urged them to work hard in carrying out the developmental activities that would benefit the people.
During the meeting with the public, the Gewog Administration Officer provided an update on the progress of prioritized activity of the FY 2021- 2022. Hon’ble Member also highlighted the developmental activities of the Gewog.
Hon’ble Member also made a visit to Lhaptshakha Primary School and noted the issues of teacher shortage, size of the classroom, and need for infrastructure expansion as submitted by the principal. Hon'ble Member also made a visit to the wall construction site at Talo Lhakhang and Zimchu Wogma, which were damaged during the last monsoon season. Hon’ble Member shared that the quality of the work was satisfactory and commended the LG members about it.
Hon’ble Member will be visiting the rest of the Gewogs in his constituency in the following days and will be returning to Thimphu on 13th May.
