Environment and Climate Change Committee consults with relevant stakeholders on Forest and Nature Conservation Bill under amendment.

The Environment and Climate Change Committee of the National Assembly commenced its consultation meetings with relevant stakeholders based in Dzongkhags on Forest and Nature Conservation Bill of Bhutan 2022 from today starting from Paro Dzongkhag.The stakeholders in the Dzongkhags include relevant sector heads from dzongkhag administration, forestry officials from Forest Division, Local Government Leaders, representatives of Community Forests and owners of saw mills and furniture houses.

The Committee is conducting the consultation with the objective to get the views and opinions of different stakeholders based in the Dzongkhags. The Committee will be conducting a meeting with Haa Dzongkhag tomorrow followed by Bumthang, Zhemgang, Samdrup-jongkhar and Samtse. The Bill will be deliberated in the upcoming summer session of the National Assembly.
