Hon’ble Tek Bahadur Rai, Member from Sarbang Shompangkha Constituency visits his constituency

Hon’ble Tek Bdr Rai is in his constituency scheduled from 8 to 22 January 2022.  

Before his visit to Gewogs and Chiwogs, the Member conducted an entry meeting with Dasho Dzongdag and Dzongrab of the Dzongkhag Administration. During the entry meeting, the Dzongkhag Administration provided an update on major development activities and challenges in the Dzongkhag. The Project Manager has updated Hon Tek on the progress of Sarpang Dzong Construction.

During the visit, some of the major issues raised by the public were on the recent decision to import chilies and eggs which directly affected the chilly farmers and poultry owners in the region. Other challenges such as human-wildlife conflict, especially with rising incidents of elephants, have also been appraised. 

The Member will continue to meet with the people in his constituencies and plan to conduct an exit meeting with the Dzongkhag Administration to further discuss the issues raised by the people and possible means of interventions and solutions at the Dzongkhag and Central level. 

In the wake of Covid cases in the southern region, the meetings and consultations are held in smaller groups with health protocols.
