Member of Parliament from Phuentshogpelri-Samtse constituency, Hon’ble Ganesh Ghimiray is currently in his constituency.
On his arrival, an entrance meeting was held with the Dzongkhag Administration led by Dasho Dzongda on 2nd January. The Hon Member then proceeded to Limeyrthang Deothang Chiwog of Samtse Gewog to interact with the constituents and to convey the decisions of the Sixth Session of the Third Parliament. During his visit, people raised their concerns on various issues such as lack of access to proper markets for their agricultural products like ginger and construction of a bridge between Lhamaytar to Bukey and from Bukey to Khalingtar.
On 11th January, Hon’ble Member visited Gampakha Chiwog of Phuentshopelri Gewog, where the need for a hostel facility for the children of Gashing Primary School was discussed. The students have to walk a long distance to school. The Chiwog also expressed their needs for a Basic Health Care Unit, construction of road connectivity between Totnay to Tumkay village, and the requirement of bridges over Shuktikhola and Lichikhola.
The Hon’ble Member agreed to take up the matter with the Gewog and Dzongkhag. The Hon’ble Member will continue his constituency visit other Chiwogs. He had expressed that there is nothing like visiting his constituency and listening to people.
Constituency visit as representative of the people is one of the major roles of the Member of Parliament, legislation and oversight function being the other two.
