The Hon’ble Speaker, before moving on to the business of the House today, announced that the National Assembly received the Supplementary Budget Appropriation  Bill for FY 2021-22  and Fiscal Incentive (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2022  from the National Council without any amendments and recommendations.

National Assembly adopts the Tourism Levy Bill of Bhutan 2022 and the Forest and Nature Conservation Bill of Bhutan 2021

The National Assembly today adopted the Tourism Levy Bill of Bhutan 2022 and the Forest and Nature Conservation Bill of Bhutan 2021 after the motion was moved by the Members in Charge of the Bill.

Motion on increasing price of Goods and Services (inflation)

The Member from Kengkhar-Weringla constituency, Hon’ble Rinzin Jamtsho moved the motion to establish a special committee or a joint committee at the earliest to carry out an in-depth study to resolve the escalation of prices of goods and services. The motion was seconded by the Member from the Bartsham-Shongphu constituency.

Third Reading on the Tourism Levy Bill of Bhutan 2022

The National Assembly today conducted the Third Reading on the Tourism Levy Bill of Bhutan 2022. The Chairperson of the Economics and Finance Committee, the member from Gangzur-Minjey submitted the Committee’s recommendation on the Bill. The Chairperson submitted that the Committee conducted various stakeholder meetings and discussions to review the Bill. The Bill was referred to the Committee on 20th June 2022 for further review.

Shari Higher Secondary Students witness the 12th Sitting of the 7th Session

Twenty students (school leaders) from Shari Higher Secondary School accompanied by the Vice-Principal and a teacher attend the 12th Sitting of the 7th Session of the National Assembly today. The agenda today was Question Hour and the continuation of deliberation on the Third Reading of the Forest and Nature Conservation Bill of Bhutan 2021.
