Third Reading on Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2021 continues

The House into the third day of deliberation on the Good Governance Committee’s recommendation on Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2021 discussed the sub-sections under Protection of Witnesses, Liability of legal persons, Suspension of public servants, and addition of a new subsection under Protection for assisting Commission.

The House today continued the deliberation on the Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2021. As per the directive of the House, the Good Governance Committee resubmitted their recommendations on Sections 48 (2), 49 (2), 50 (2), 51 (2), and 53 (2)of the Bill. The House after deliberation endorsed the recommendations through a majority show of hands.

The National Assembly of Bhutan commenced its Third Reading of the Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2021 today. The Chairperson of the Good Governance Committee, Hon’ble Ugyen Dorji, Member from Dewathang-Gomdar Constituency presented its 53 recommendations on the Bill after carrying out consultation with various stakeholders.
