The first meeting of the Legislative Committee of the National Assembly of Third Parliament was held on 30th November 2018 where the committee unanimously elected Hon’ble Tshewang Lhamo, member from Bongo-Chapchha constituency as the Chairperson and Hon’ble Kuenga Loday, member from Khamdang-Ramjar constituency as the Dy. Chairperson.
....A three member delegation from the Socialist People’s Party (SPP) of Denmark led by Ms. Pia Olsen Dyhr, President of SPP made a courtesy call on to the Hon’ble Speaker at the Gyelyong Tshogkhang today.
....The first meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Third Parliament held on 28th November 2018 elected Hon’ble Phuntsho Rapten, Eminent Member from the National Council as the Chairperson and and Hon’ble Choida Jamtsho, Member from National Assembly as the Deputy Chairperson. The Chairperson and the Dy. Chairperson were elected through majority votes.
....The UNICEF Representative of Bhutan, His Excellency, Mr. Rudolf Schwenk , made courtesy Call-on to Hon’ble Tshogpon, Mr. Wangchuk Namgyel in the Gyelyong Tshogkhang today.
....The Members of the National Assembly led by Hon’ble Speaker and Hon’ble Prime Minister visited Machey Lhakhang in Punakha Dzong and Talo Goenpa to offer prayers and nyendhar as their term of five years of office in the service of the Tsa-Wa-Sum began with effect from 31 October 2018.
....The 5-day induction program for parliamentarians concluded successfully today with the briefings by Constitutional bodies.
During the Fourth Day of the Induction Program for Parliamentarians, Hon’ble Members of National Assembly were sensitized on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, GNH Index, National Assembly’s Strategic Development Plan (2019-2024) and Parliament of Bhutan’s memberships to International/Regional Organizations.
....In the third day of the Induction Program for Parliamentarians, the Hon’ble Members were given a refresher course on Driglam Namzha followed by practical session at the Royal Banquet Hall today.

....Hon’ble Members of the National Assembly officially joined their offices today after a Marchang Ceremony presided by Hon’ble Speaker.
....His Majesty the King conferred Dakyen to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon’ble Wangchuk Namgyel and Orange Kabney to the Leader of the Opposition, Hon’ble Dr. Pema Gyamtsho at the Tashichhodzong today.
....The National Assembly, during its first sitting held today, elected Wangchuk Namgyel, Member of Parliament from Nyishog-Saephu constituency as the Speaker and Tshencho Wangdi, Member of Parliament from Kabisa-Talog constituency as the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
....Led by the Prime Minister Dr. Lotay Tshering, the Member-Elects of the Third National Assembly presented their certificates of election issued by the Election Commission to the Secretary General of the National Assembly today at 10:00 am.
....About 40 Assistant Research Officers and staff of the National Assembly are attending a five day training on Policy Formulation and Analysis in Paro starting today. The Training is organized by the National Assembly Secretariat in collaboration with Gross National Happiness Commission, with financial and technical support from UNICEF.
