The Parliamentary Committee on COVID 19 Preparedness and Response continues its support to the Government to focus on issues that require immediate attention in response to the spread of COVID 19
....The Parliamentary Committee on COVID-19 Preparedness and Response met for the 8th time on 26th March, 2020.
....After the 6th meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on COVID-19 Preparedness and Response, the Committee submitted the fourth set of recommendations to the Government on COVID-19 preventive measures. The recommendations were regarding the Quarantine protocol, Education, Monastic Institutions and Counseling Services to People under Quarantine.
....The Parliamentary Committee on COVID-19 Preparedness and Responses submitted eight recommendations to the Government on COVID-19 preventive measures.
....The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in its 17th meeting held on 13th March, 2020 appointed Hon’ble Choida Jamtsho, Member from National Assembly as the Chairperson and Hon’ble Ugyen Tshering from National Council as the Deputy Chairperson.
....His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo appointed Secretary General of the National Assembly Secretariat, Sangay Duba as the Cabinet Secretary.
....The temporary Joint Parliamentary Committee on COVID-19 Preparedness and Response met for its first meeting today and unanimously elected Hon’ble Dorji Wangdi as the Chairperson and Hon’ble Lhaki Dolma as the Vice-Chairperson.
....The Hon'ble Prime Minister updated and briefed the Hon’ble Members of Parliament on the efforts made to contain the spread of Covid 19. Showing solidarity, the Members from both Houses including Cabinet Ministers and equivalent post holders unanimously volunteered to contribute one month's salary to support the government in this hour of need.

....Seven questions were raised to the Ministers in Group C today. Three Questions to the Minister for Economic Affairs, three to Finance Minister and one question to the Minister for Labour and Human Resources.
....The National Assembly of Bhutan deliberated on the National Council’s recommendation to withdraw the adoption of the Goods and Services Tax Bill of Bhutan 2020. The National Council had recommended that until all the necessary systems are ready and in place, including training of staff and creating public awareness the Bill be withdrawn. It also recommended that the amendment of the Public Finance (Amendment) Act 2012 be introduced.
