A total of eight oral questions were raised to the Minister in Group C- five to the Minister for Economic Affairs, two to the Minister for Home and Cultural Affairs, and one to the Minister for Foreign Affairs regarding the preparation on the government's part to offset the possible impact of graduating from least developed countries (LDC) to a medium-income country by 2023.
The National Assembly of Bhutan deliberated on the recommendations received from the National Council on the Tourism Levy Bill of Bhutan 2022. The Chairperson of the Economic and Finance Committee, Hon’ble Kinga Penjor presented the eleven recommendations made by the National Council on the Bill along with the Committee’s decision to accept all the recommendations.
The National Assembly re-deliberated on the amendments and objections received from the National Council on the Royal Bhutan Police (Amendment) Bill 2021 today. Hon’ble Drungtsho Karma Wangchuk, Chairperson of the Social and Culture Committee moved the motion for the re-deliberation of the Bill presenting the National Council’s 21 amendments, 3 new sections, and 1 section proposed for repeal.
