National Assembly of Bhutan conducts Post Session Plenary

Following the conclusion of the Eighth Session of the Third Parliament, the Members of the National Assembly met for the Post Plenary Session in the Lhen-zom Khangzang Conference Hall today. The meeting, chaired by the Hon'ble Speaker was attended by the Cabinet Ministers, the Opposition Leader and the Members of National Assembly.
Prior to the main agenda of the plenary, the Hon’ble Speaker expressed gratitude to everyone for the successful conclusion of the Eighth Session of the Third Parliament.
The Plenary discussed a range of topics ranging from the preparation for the 9th Session on the disputed clauses between the two Houses, change of chair and deputy chair of the Standing Committees, participation of the Members in the celebration of the National Day, issues related to constituency visit, and the notification from the Election Commission of Bhutan on the eve of National Council member’s election for the 4th Parliament.
The plenary also included a presentation on the Guidelines on Chadi from the Department of Culture of the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs on which the Plenary had a lengthy to strengthen the protocols and procedures. The intention is to develop a comprehensive policy guideline on the cultural etiquettes.
