What are the plans of the government to protect the intellectual rights of cultural industries in Bhutan from external forces?

The protection of intellectual rights of cultural industries is very important to preserve the cultural heritage. The government is working with international organizations like World Intellectual Property Organization to solve the problems. The Industrial Property Act and Copy Right Act of 2001 also exist to monitor the issue. The major problem faced is due to the absence of a strong international law on the protection of intellectual rights.

There are many shareholders in government corporations. What are the strategies of the government to manage the corporations since the revenue might be misused?

All corporations having maximum government share functions according to the Companies Act. The Managing Directors are also appointed by the government and the management of such corporations are governed by the Board of Directors.

There is a serious irrigation and drinking water scarcity in my constituency. What are the plans of government on this issue?

The problem of water scarcity is faced by the nation at large. We are working on building bigger reservoirs and harvesting rain water as done in other countries.

The yield of oranges and cardamom in the south is declining. What can government do to restore the yield and how are the possibilities of growing coffee and hazelnut in the country?

While inspecting, the Ministry has found that some cardamom orchards were doing good and some were not. It all depended on management practices. The study has also been carried out to grow hazelnut and coffee in the country and it seems to be productive.

The construction of farm road from Tsamang to Banjar under Mongar Dzongkhag already started but the work is not progressing. If the government could complete the work at the earliest, it would benefit the people.

The investigation is on regarding the delay. The Director of Agriculture has also been informed on this issue.
