Courtesy call on to Hon’ble Speaker by Mr. Rudra Gaurav Shrestha, Dy. Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy

Mr. Rudra Gaurav Shrestha, the new Dy. Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy made a courtesy call on to the Hon’ble Speaker today.


Mr. Rudra Gaurav Shrestha described Bhutan as an interesting and a homely country and mentioned that Bhutan and India shared friendly relations. He also expressed his interest to further the interaction between the two Parliaments and its´ Members.  He mentioned that the Members and even the staff can take part in the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training (BPST) which provides parliamentarians, parliamentary staff and others with institutionalized opportunities for systematic training in the various disciplines of parliamentary institutions, processes and procedures.


Hon’ble Speaker thanked Mr. Rudra Gaurav Shrestha for the opportunity and said that Bhutan has much to learn from India as Democracy in Bhutan is still in its infancy. Hon´ble Speaker expressed his gratitude towards the strong bonds the two countries shared and the importance of continuing such relationship. He expressed his hopes that the Members and the staff can learn from Indian Parliament by sharing experiences and participating in BPST and other programs.
