Courtesy call on to Hon’ble Speaker by the Kuwait Ambassador to Bhutan

His Excellency Mr. Fadel Alhasan Charge’ D’affaires .a.i, the Kuwait Ambassador to Bhutan made a courtesy call to the Hon’ble Speaker on 17 January 2019.


The Ambassador conveyed the congratulatory message from the Hon’ble Speaker of Kuwait to the Hon’ble Speaker on being elected as the Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan. The Ambassador said he was privileged to visit Bhutan and mentioned the possibility of the two Hon’ble Speakers to meet in Doha this April during the 140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) . He also expressed the possibilities of establishing Parliamentary Friendship Group between the two countries and initiate exchange of parliament experiences and knowledge.


The Hon’ble Speaker thanked the Ambassador for the message and said that Bhutan and Kuwait have enjoyed strong diplomatic relationships for a long time. He hoped that the development cooperation between the two countries will continue especially with support to Parliament in terms of capacity building of the Members and Parliamentary exchange visits.

Bhutan's diplomatic tie with Kuwait was established on 23rd May, 1983.
