His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo graces the Closing Ceremony of Parliament Session

His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo benevolently graced the Closing Ceremony of the 11th Session of the Second Parliament today. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen and  Members of the Royal Family.


In his concluding address, Tshogpon Jigme Zangpo expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Parliament to His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo for continued support and wise guidance to the Parliament and for working tirelessly and selflessly for the welfare of the people. He also expressed his gratitude to His Holiness the Je Khenpo for presiding over numerous Kurim and prayers for the benefit of the country and the people and also for granting seed money for the conduct of  religious activities. The Speaker also highlighted the achievements of the Parliament in the past five years and expressed his gratitude to the Members of Parliament and the people for their support to the Parliament and himself. He also thanked the Government of India and other donor countries for the continued support to the development of the country.


In conclusion, the Speaker offered prayers for the good health and long life of His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, His Royal Highness the Gyalsey, Members of the Royal Family and perpetuity of the Wangchuck Dynasty.


The Ceremony concluded with offering of Trashi Moenlam to His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo by the Members of Parliament led by Ven. Drabi Lopen of Zhung Dratshang.


The 11th Session is the last Parliamentary Session of the Second Parliament.
