Good Governance Committee Presents the Review Report of the Annual Anti-Corruption Commission Report 2017 today.

The Deputy Chairperson of the Committee, Member from Nyishog-Saephu constituency presented the review report of the ACC report 2017 to the House. Based on the ACC Report, the review report was submitted on  the organization and administration, follow up on systemic recommendations, complaints received, investigations, restitution and , the Nation’s ranking on state of Corruption, and  follow up on resolutions of the National Assembly. The Committee submitted 14 recommendations to the House.

 

The House while deliberating the report, some members submitted that there was a need to review the Anti-Corruption Act.  Currently problems are being faced  due to the ambiguity of definition of corruption. The House also deliberated on  issues pertaining to restitution.

 

After a through deliberation the House endorsed the 14 recommendations submitted by the Committee. In addition to the recommendations from the Committee, the House added five more recommendations.

 

The House voted on the 19 recommendations and out of 35 members present and voting 34 voted Yes and 1 Abstained.
