The Hon Speaker meets with Koreans visiting Bhutan to celebrate Bhutan-Korea Friendship

The Hon Speaker met with a group of 22 Korean led by a Councilor of Gwangju Metropolitian Council, Rep. Jeon Jin Sook at the National Assembly Conference Hall.


The Hon Speaker warmly welcomed them to Bhutan and hoped that they would enjoy the Bhutanese hospitality. The Speaker briefly spoke on Bhutan, our culture and the system of governance. He explained that unlike other countries Bhutan was fortunate to have democracy gifted to the people by the Fourth King of Bhutan. The Speaker expressed his hopes that the Bhutan-Korea Friendship will continue to flourish and also hoped to establish ties between the two Parliaments in future.


The visitors expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the Hon Speaker for meeting with them and for giving them insight on the working of the Parliament and the democratic system of government in Bhutan. They hoped that that the Bhutan-Korea friendship will continue to grow and also expressed their interests to invest in Bhutan.


The group will be in Bhutan till the 18th of this month.
