Recommendations of the National Council on the Budget Appropriation Bill, Pay Revision Report and the Fiscal Incentive Bill deliberated

The House today re-deliberated on the recommendations of the National Council on the budget appropriation bill 2017-18, pay revision report (Money bill) and the fiscal incentive bill 2017. A total of seven recommendations were made on the budget appropriation bill and four recommendations on the pay revision bill. The National Council had, however, revoked the fiscal incentives bill 2017 with four general objections and 10 specific objections.

The National Assembly today passed the Fiscal Incentives Bill of Bhutan 2017 after 31 Members voted ‘Yes’ while 10 members voted ‘No’ and one abstained from voting. The Finance Minister today presented the annual budget for the financial year 2017-18 to the House with the outlay of Nu. 55,850.264 million. However, as per the report, the total budget appropriation for the financial year is Nu.60,777.871 million including a total expenditure of Nu.57,915.710 million, lending of Nu. 41.840 million and repayment of Nu. 2,820.321 million.
