The House resolved not to amend the provisions of the Penal Code on rape

On behalf of the people of Dagana Dzongkhag, the Member from Drujegang-Tseza submitted that a man involved in consensual sex with a girl between the age ranges of 16-18 is charged with rape if the girl later files a complaint to the court. He expressed that it was unfair to the person accused in such scenario and submitted if the House could revisit the relevant provisions of the Penal Code.


Finance Minister presents report on the implementation status of the resolution of the 3rd Session

The Minister for Finance presented reports on the implementation status of the resolutions of the 3rd Session of the 2nd Parliament on vehicle quota, budget allocation in the Supplementary Budget Appropriation Bill to address unemployment issue, amendment of Personal Income Tax and on the withdrawal of government pool vehicles.


House ratifies two International conventions

The House ratified the Doha amendments to the Kyoto Protocol to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change after 38 Members voted ‘Yes’ and one Member voted ‘No’ while one Member abstained.
