House voted on Companies Bill 2015

Today, The House voted on the Companies Bill 2015 to be tabled in the joint sitting of Parliament subject to the Royal assent. The decision was reached after all 42 Members present unanimously voted in favour of the motion.

Tshogpon Jigme Zangpo was called on by H.E. Mr. Devrim Ozturk, Ambassador of Turkey to Bhutan this afternoon. The Hon Speaker congratulated Ambassador Ozturk on his appointment as the 2nd Ambassador of Turkey to Bhutan
Ambassador Devrim expressed that the government of Turkey is keen to promote bilateral relationship in all possible fields to further deepen the relations between the two countries.

House votes on European Investment Bank Framework Agreement

Today, the House voted on the European Investment Bank Framework Agreement to be submitted to His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo as a disputed agenda. The Framework Agreement will be tabled in the joint sitting of Parliament subject to the Royal assent. Out of 37 members present during the voting, 36 Members voted in favour of the Framework Agreement to be tabled in the joint sitting while only one Member abstained…....

National Assembly re-deliberates on Companies Bill 2015

The Companies Bill 2015 was re-deliberated by the House after a motion was moved by the Minister for Economic Affairs, the Member in Charge of the Bill to re-deliberate on the Bill based on the amendments proposed by the National Council. The Minister informed that a total of 41 amendments were proposed by the National Council.

The newly accredited Ambassador of Czech Republic to Bhutan, H.E. Mr. Milan Hovorka called on the Hon Speaker Jigme Zangpo this afternoon. House votes on Bills and Convention

Today, the House endorsed the Jabmi (Amendment) Bill 2015 after it was re-deliberated for the last two days. All 43 Members present voted ‘Yes’ for the Bill which will be re-tabled in the joint sitting of parliament in the next session subject to the Royal Assent.

European Investment Bank Framework Agreement to be proposed to be deliberated in the joint sitting

The House re-deliberated on the European Investment Bank Framework Agreement (FWA) based on the objections made by the National Council. The Member in charge of FWA, the Minister for Finance informed that the National Council has objected to the ratification of the FWA mainly on sovereignty issues. He informed that the National Council has stated that ratifying the FWA will undermine the sovereignty of the country.

The Member from Drujegang-Tseza constituency questioned the Prime Minister on the possibilities to grant land compensation to the affected farmers due to construction of electric tower line in their land. Re-deliberation concludes on Jabmi (Amendment) Bill 2015

Today, the House continued its deliberation on the Jabmi(Amendment) Bill 2015. The House deliberated on section 23 (h) of the Bill at length which requires Jabmis to have undergone the National Legal Course. The amendment proposed by the National Council has removed this section from the Bill. Motion moved to withdraw the Enterprise Registration Bill

The Minister for Economic Affairs set forth that the Enterprise Registration Bill 2015 be withdrawn considering the resolution of the National Council to withdraw the Bill. The Minister informed that the National Council had withdrawn the Bill on the grounds that the objectives of single window system for services were ambiguous and enough consultations were not held on the Bill with the stakeholders.
